Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah hit the headlines recently when claimed that it is disturbing to see films like The Kashmir Files and Gadar 2 becoming massively popular. TKF director Vivek Agnihotri hit back at him and claimed that Shah perhaps feels exposed with the truth of his last film and said that the veteran actor likes to support terrorists.
When Nana was asked his views on Naseer’s remark, he said, “Did you ask Naseer what nationalism means to him? According to me, showing love for the nation is nationalism and it is not a bad thing.”
He added, “The kind of film Gadar is, it will have that kind of content and I have not seen The Kerala Story, so I cannot comment on that.”
Nana also added that it is not right for people to make money in the name of nationalism, and that they should stay true to the facts when making a film on true events.
On the work front, Naseeruddin Shah will next be seen collaborating with Vishal Bhardwaj on his web show Charlie Chopra. He will share screen with his wife Ratna Pathak Shah, and sons Vivaan and Imaad in the show.
On the other hand, Nana Patekar will soon be seen in Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Vaccine War where her will play Dr Bhargava, the creator of the COVID vaccine. He has also signed Anil Sharma’s next film titled Journey.
