Dream run for Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 continues as it has now become the 3rd highest grossing film in Hindi. The film on Saturday raked in about Rs 12.5 crore as per Sacnilk, taking its grand total to 438.70 crores whereas KGF 2(Hindi) stands at 435 crores. The film is not only behind Baahubali 2 0- The Conclusion and Pathaan, the film is expected to reach 500 crores in the next week.And the stakes have just gotten interesting as on 7th September, it will clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan which has been carrying very strong reports.
Gadar 2’s numbers are despite the competition it faced from Ayushmann Khurrana’s starrer Dream Girl 2. As Gadar 2 crossed the 400 crore mark, the makers of Gadar 2 had organized a success party for the film where Sunny Deol along with brother Bobby Deol were spotted together.
Sunny Deol also took to his Instagram handle to share a video of himself thanking his fans for showering the film with their love. In the video, Sunny says, “First and foremost thank you all that you liked the film so much. I never imagined you guys would like Gadar 2 so much. We have crossed 400 crores because of you all and we will go ahead.”
He credited the film’s success to his fans and added, “This all happened because of you all. You liked the film, Tara Singh and Sakeena. Thank you.”
A special screening of the film was also hosted by the makers in the New Parliament House, New Delhi for the Lok Sabha members. The first screening of ‘Gadar 2’ started today at 11:00 a.m. and will continue for three days. There will be five shows every day for the Lok Sabha members in the New Parliament building.In fact President of he country had also requested for a show of the film during the Independence day weekend.
The film also stars Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur and Manish Wadhwa.
