On Thursday, director Atlee himself visited a theatre to see the fans’ reactions to ‘Jawan’. The director was papped outside the Gaiety Galaxy theatre in Mumbai.
Several pictures and videos of the director visiting the theatre went viral on social media. He was seen wearing a red sweatshirt paired with black trousers and was seen greeting the shutterbugs with joined hands.
When asked about the movie’s success, the filmmaker said, “Love everyone. Everyone is loving back. Everyone loves Shah Rukh Khan.” He further commented on the craze and said, “It is all because of Shah Rukh sir.”
The film stars SRK alongside Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. Actor Deepika Padukone is seen in a special appearance.
It seems like the journey for Jawan has only begun. As per Sacnilk, the film is holding strong even on day 2 and has already earned Rs 21 crore in advance booking. Jawan is expected to have a box office of no less than Rs 45 crore on day 2 in all languages with Hindi and Tamil leading from the front, taking its grand total of two days to Rs 120 crore.
In fact, the IMAX version of the film has also been a key contributor to the mammoth total. On day 1, of the 62 shows it had in Mumbai and Delhi, it had over 60 per cent occupancy and each ticket was priced over Rs 2000 and even on day 2, Jawan managed to sell over 9000 tickets, overall the film had nearly 120 IMAX shows on day 1.
Jawan’s release was followed by strong word of mouth publicity and in every language the film picked up with every passing show with evening shows showing more than 90 per cent occupancy. With the weekend ahead, the numbers are only going to spike. The film has something to offer for everyone, from massy dialogues to romance and action and from mind blowing background score to comedy and a social message.
