The news about the couple’s divorce comes months after news broke that they parted ways and have been living separately for the past months. Back in July, reports stated that the estranged couple were ‘heading for a divorce’, thus marking the end of their two-year romance.
According to TMZ, both Ariana and Dalton simultaneously submitted their divorce documents, signalling the end of their union. The actress and singer cited “irreconcilable differences” as the primary reason behind their split.Despite vicious rumours doing the rounds, the former couple is reportedly amicably settling their affairs before heading to the courthouse. Ariana is reportedly set to provide financial support to Dalton, thanks to a prenuptial agreement they had in place before their hush-hush lockdown wedding.
Commenting on the situation, a divorce attorney exclusively told Page Six that their prenuptial agreement likely safeguards all assets and income that either party possessed before entering into the marriage. Given the relatively short duration of their relationship, the division of assets is expected to be quite limited.
Their official date of separation has been recorded as February 20, 2023. This officially marks the end of their journey that began back in 2020 amidst the pandemic.
Ariana and real-estate agent Dalton tied the knot just five months after they announced their engagement. The two wed in an intimate wedding surrounded by less than 20 people, at their home in Montecito, California.
The “Positions” hitmaker and Gomez, 25, were dating since January 2020 and were social distancing together at her home here amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Currently, Ariana has been linked to her ‘Wicked’ movie co-star Ethan Slater, with whom she has allegedly moved in with. Ethan is also in the middle of a divorce battle with his estranged wife, with whom he welcomed a son just last year. While Ariana and Dalton’s divorce seems like a clean cut, Ethan’s divorce from his wife seems to be more messy.
